Job description

Job Title: Survey CAD Technician

Job Description

This role entails developing survey boundary, topographic, and control surveys, as well as conducting construction stakeout using CAD/MicroStation and related platforms. The position involves receiving field data and transforming it into working drawings, existing condition base sheets, and finished plats. The Survey Field and Office Technician will work under the guidance of a Project Surveyor.

Responsibilities

  • Perform boundary, topographic, and control surveys and construction stakeout for various projects.
  • Complete survey computations efficiently and accurately.
  • Prepare boundary, subdivision, easement plats, and legal descriptions.
  • Process topographic survey, control, and location survey information.
  • Prepare, understand, and complete drawings in accordance with project specifications and industry survey standards.
  • Create preliminary and/or final sketches of proposed drawings using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment.
  • Modify drawings as directed by the project manager or project surveyor.
  • Collaborate closely with other surveyors and engineers to ensure a coordinated design.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as necessary.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD with at least 2 years of experience in surveying.
  • Experience in field surveying for at least 2 years.
  • Knowledge of drafting, Civil 3D, CAD, surveying, topographic surveys, ALTA, land survey, and Carlson survey.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Interest in obtaining a professional license is preferred but not required.
  • Expereince in civil or survey work.

Work Environment

The role initially involves a 50/50 mix of office and field work, which will eventually transition to a 100% office role in Germantown. The office is newly built and houses around 40 employees, providing a modern and beautiful work environment. The first three days will involve field work, followed by a balanced office-to-field schedule.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Germantown, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
