A well-established and growing commercial glass and glazing contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator to join its team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with expertise in commercial glazing who can prepare accurate estimates, develop strong relationships with general contractors, and contribute to the continued growth of the commercial division.
Key ResponsibilitiesReview construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare accurate cost estimates.
Develop and submit competitive bid proposals.
Solicit pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
Follow up with general contractors regarding submitted bids.
Coordinate with project managers, architects, vendors, and suppliers throughout the estimating process.
Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and project walkthroughs as needed.
Track bid opportunities from submission through project award.
Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors and industry partners.
Support smooth project handoffs to operations following successful bid awards.
Contribute to the growth and success of the company's commercial estimating department.
Minimum 3 years of commercial estimating experience preferred.
Experience estimating commercial glass, storefront systems, curtain walls, windows, or other Division 08 products preferred.
Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings.
Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), or similar platforms.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
Valid driver's license.
Experience using BuildingConnected, ConstructConnect, PlanHub, or Dodge Construction Network.
Existing relationships with general contractors within the regional construction market.
Proven ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
