Job description

FlexStaff is seeking an experienced Logistics Director who is ready to take the next step in their career toward a Director of Freight Operations role, with the potential to grow into President of a U.S. branch of a global logistics company. This organization provides global ocean and air transportation, secure warehousing, customs documentation, and specialized heavy-lift and cold-chain logistics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred

  • Executive management experience in logistics on a global level

  • Break bulk and customs experience required

  • Demonstrated P&L responsibility and strategic planning expertise

  • Experience in organizational restructuring and/or new business development

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead overall freight operations for the U.S. branch, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery across ocean and air transportation. 

  • Oversee secure warehousing, customs documentation, and specialized logistics services, including heavy-lift and cold-chain shipments. 

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to support business growth, operational improvement, and long-term expansion. 

  • Manage profit and loss responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, financial performance, and cost control. 

  • Drive business development efforts, identify new market opportunities, and support organizational growth initiatives. 

  • Lead organizational restructuring efforts as needed to improve efficiency, scalability, and performance. 

  • Ensure compliance with all customs, regulatory, and international shipping requirements. 

  • Build and maintain strong client, vendor, and partner relationships to support operational excellence and service quality. 

  • Collaborate with executive leadership on company strategy, operational priorities, and succession planning. 

  • Mentor and develop operational teams to support leadership growth and future advancement within the organization.
