POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Barista - TEMP
DEPARTMENT: Food Services
REPORTS TO: Assistant Restaurant Manager
STATUS: Non-Exempt, Hourly
HOURS: Part Time (20)

We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing our guests with exceptional food and beverage, accompanied by warm, friendly, attentive, and gracious service. While displaying a heart to serve the body at Calvary Chapel as well as each guest and student in the Grill. You Will:
  • Exhibit excellent guest service
  • You will be required to complete all necessary training as provided by management/trainers
  • Operate POS system: cash, credit and gift card handling
  • Safely handle equipment and tools provided
  • Brew coffee
  • Make various beverages
  • Take To-go orders
  • Perform opening and closing side-work
  • Continue to develop your drink and food knowledge
  • Maintain and restock pastry case checking that freshness and quality are up to standard
  • Maintain the barista area to meet quality and health standards

You Have:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Encouraged but not required background in food and beverage services
  • The ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task
  • Basic computer skills and/or capacity to learn and be competent in technology
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be on your feet for extended periods of time

What you are required to know:
  • We are an EEO employer.
  • You may have to bend, sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, lift, pull, push and/or move up to 35 lbs.
  • This is a temp part-time (20 hours/week) hourly non-exempt position.
  • You may have to work evenings and/or weekends to assist with special events or emergencies.

Work Schedule:
Staff culture is important to what we do. To love like family, we require all staff to attend all staff meetings, department meetings and serve with a willing heart especially at all major campus events. This is a requirement for all Food Services staff to work Easter, Mother's Day, Kids Conf, YE, Back to School Preview Day, COP, Christmas and New Year's Eve.
