Job description

VACANCY:  The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a part-time School Psychologist position for the 2026-2027 school year.
JOB SUMMARY:  The psychologist is responsible to the Building Principal and the Director of Special Education for working cooperatively with school personnel in the identification, diagnosis, and remediation of individual students with specialized needs.  Conduct and report upon assessment results for students during the entitlement and re-evaluation processes.  Support instruction by working with students in a counseling manner.  An understanding of and the ability to apply knowledge regarding problem-solving, curriculum based measures, and response to intervention is desired.
QUALIFICATIONS:          



  • Current Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with a School Psychologist (PK-21) endorsement
  • Excellent communications skills with students, teachers, parents and SRT, and a willingness to spend the time to assure that such communication takes place
  • Satisfactory special education psychologist experience
  • Experience in group counseling, peer mediation, parent training, behavior management/ intervention strategies strongly desired
  • Additional duties may from time to time be assigned in accordance with provisions of the Board's policies and requirements.

 
WORKING CONDITIONS:  Salary is in accordance with the teacher salary schedule.
