Job description

JOB SUMMARY
Seeking solution-based engineers with a passion for developing easy-to-use, customer-focused capabilities that power technology platforms. This role involves modernizing mainframe capabilities to support large-scale digital presence, crafting and developing reusable Java applications focused on customer experience, and optimizing quality and deployment practices. Collaboration with business, operations, and systems partners is key to enabling new business capabilities, responding to regulatory changes, modernizing technology solutions, and addressing complex customer needs. Contribute to the entire development lifecycle from concept to deployment within an agile, multi-functional team. Share technical knowledge to strengthen the engineering community and pursue learning of new technologies and skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and advocate for engineering best practices, design patterns, and architectural principles.
- Drive technical vision and influence product roadmaps through strategic thinking and innovation.
- Challenge existing solutions and propose scalable, maintainable alternatives.
- Lead the design of complex, distributed systems ensuring reliability, performance, and security.
- Ensure alignment of architecture and leadership with organizational goals and technology standards.
- Champion automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices for efficient delivery.
- Communicate effectively and participate in important discussions with multiple global teams.
- Craft and develop reusable Java applications.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated delivery of applications.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering scalable, high-quality backend services.
- Strong hands-on software development experience with Java 11+, frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Batch and RESTful API development.
- Strong backend engineering skills including microservices design, event-driven architecture, messaging (Kafka/SQS), caching (Redis), and SQL/NoSQL data modeling.
- Proven experience designing, building, and documenting customer-facing RESTful APIs with security, performance, and scalability best practices.
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL database management systems.
- Working knowledge of testing frameworks like Junit, Mockito, Spring Test.
- Experience in Agile methodologies (Kanban, SCRUM).
- Excellent collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with AWS Toolsets, including but not limited to SQS, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, Kinesis, CloudFormation, and other cloud-native services.
- Knowledge in Container technologies (Docker and Kubernetes).
- Passion for technology, ability to navigate complex and rapidly changing landscapes, stay on top of trends, and share knowledge.
