Job description

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking atemporary full-time Ultrasound Techto work with our Diagnostic Imaging Department.

Under the direction of the Ultrasound Supervisor, is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all ultrasound activities at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Ultrasound Technologists ensure the quality of services rendered is acceptable. Confirms orders, documents, medical necessity, and pre-authorization on all ultrasound orders. Provides care to patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic procedures as directed.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Junior College/Technical School required, Bachelor's Degree required.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Certification required
  • American Registration of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in Radiology and/or Sonography preferred.
  • WV Medical Imagining License preferred.
  • AHA BLA required.
  • One year of position related experience preferred..The kind of position-related experience includes:
    • Good working knowledge of anatomy, pathology, medical terminology and application software. Ability to skillfully operate US scanner and related patient support equipment is required. Adherence to established procedure protocols.
    • Working knowledge of all US examinations, exam preps and other information pertinent to placing orders and verifying appropriateness.
