Part time or full time between 7:30 am - 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday
Position Responsibilities
Position Summary

Work under the direction of the UI Children's Center Director and Assistant Directors and Lead Teacher to implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities; maintain a physical environment to promote growth; observe and record developmental levels and progress; develop partnerships with parents and provide care for the physical needs of children; maintain a safe and sanitary environment; performing related work.
Responsibilities
Job Duty Function Support Curriculum and Classroom Activities by: Job Duties/Responsibilities
Implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities through learning center, which include: art, music, physical activities, language and literacy, sensory and self-help.
Maintaining a physical environment to promote growth and development of physical, cognitive, language, creative, and social/emotional skills.
Observing and recording children's developmental levels and progress in all areas of development.
Developing a partnership with parents by building a positive relationship with parents.
Caring for the needs of children in personal hygiene areas including feeding, diapering/toileting, dressing, lifting and carrying children; and administering medications.
Percentage Of Time 75% Essential/Marginal Essential Job Duty Function Contribute to Compliance of Center by: Job Duties/Responsibilities
Following policies as set forth in the Staff and Parent Handbooks of the Center, U of I Staff/Faculty Handbook, and Accreditation Criteria.
Maintaining safe environment and sanitary facilities.
Percentage Of Time 20% Essential/Marginal Essential Job Duty Function Contribute to Team Environments by: Job Duties/Responsibilities
Participating in staff meetings, in-service training and continuing education.
Percentage Of Time 5% Essential/Marginal Marginal
Position Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Education: Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent or completion of CDA within 6 months of hire date.
Must be enrolled in IdahoStars Development System within one month of hire date.
Ability to: learn and apply instructions and standards.
Knowledge: developmental stages of young children and behavior management practices; CPR and first aid.
Skills: demonstrate effective communication skills, organizational skills and multi-tasking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with infants and preschool children.
Previous experience in a child care center or environment working with young children.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Must possess physical ability to work around small children; lift, carry and/or otherwise move 50 pounds; stand, sit, run and climb stairs.
Successful candidates must follow the institution's protocols and policies to mitigate the spread of Coronavirus, including wearing face coverings while in all university buildings.
