Job description

???? Now Hiring: Financial Solutions Specialist (Collector II) ????

Do you enjoy solving puzzles, finding thoughtful solutions, and helping people regain their financial footing?

Are you part analyst, part negotiator, part documentation pro — and 100% organized?

If so, we’d love to meet you.

???? The Opportunity

As our Collector II, you’ll be a calm, knowledgeable partner for members navigating financial challenges. Your role is about guidance, clarity, and collaboration — helping members move forward with confidence.

???? What You’ll Do

You won’t just manage accounts — you’ll help create solutions.

  • Review past-due, negative share, and over-the-limit accounts with a focus on resolution and support
  • Proactively reconnect with members using research tools and skip tracing techniques
  • Analyze credit information to help develop practical, realistic repayment plans
  • Collaborate with members to create mutually beneficial repayment solutions within established guidelines
  • Represent the credit union professionally when legal proceedings are required
  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation in our online collection system
  • Identify and escalate potential fraud or suspicious activity appropriately
  • Share ideas to strengthen and improve collection processes
  • Prepare insightful reports that help leadership make informed decisions
  • Serve as a knowledgeable, responsive point of contact for member collection inquiries

You’ll deliver service with empathy, professionalism, and clear communication — helping members feel informed and supported.

???? What You Bring

You may be a great fit if you have:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years of collections experience
  • Strong knowledge of Fair Debt Collection laws and credit union policies
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Outstanding communication and member service abilities
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Spectrum (spreadsheet skills a plus)
  • Familiarity with bankruptcy laws and related regulations

???? What Sets You Apart

You are:

  • Calm and steady under pressure
  • Detail-oriented in a way that strengthens accuracy and compliance
  • Confident and compassionate in conversations
  • A natural problem-solver
  • Comfortable communicating across teams and with external partners
  • Equally confident working with data, systems, and policy guidelines

???? Why This Role Matters

You help members move forward.

You support the financial strength of the credit union.

You ensure compliance and accuracy.

You make complex situations feel manageable.

You turn challenges into solutions.

Ready to combine analytical thinking, thoughtful negotiation, and exceptional member service into one impactful role?

Apply today — and bring your expertise with you.
