Job description

Overview

The CBRN Systems Engineer provides technical expertise and operational support for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) and/or Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) detection technologies. This role is responsible for sustaining, analyzing, and optimizing sensor system performance to ensure mission readiness, improve detection capabilities, and support evolving operational requirements. The ideal candidate brings deep experience with advanced sensor technologies, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across government and industry teams.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of CBRN and/or C-UAS sensor systems to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance with quality assurance standards. 
  • Analyze system data and performance metrics to identify trends, improve detection capabilities, and maintain optimal system readiness. 
  • Assess sensor performance and develop recommendations to reduce false alarms while enhancing detection accuracy and reliability. 
  • Maintain, update, and manage system performance databases and related analytical records. 
  • Prepare and present technical reports, findings, and recommendations to government stakeholders and program leadership. 
  • Support technology assessments of current and emerging sensor capabilities to inform future operational requirements. 
  • Coordinate with government, engineering, and operational teams to address technical issues and implement system improvements. 
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience evaluating, assessing, and supporting current and emerging sensor technologies. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with CBRN detection and mitigation systems and/or C-UAS detection and mitigation systems. 
  • Proven ability to analyze complex technical data and develop actionable recommendations. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences. 
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field. 
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs, operations, or customers. 
  • Familiarity with technology sustainment, system lifecycle management, and operational readiness assessments.
