Location: Flint, MI 48503

Rate: $17.63/hr

Job Type: Approximately 19 hours/week, Part-Time, Long-Term, Temporary/Contract Position

ANTICIPATED Schedule:

  • Monday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

  • Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

  • Thursday: 8:00 PM – 3:00 PM

  • Friday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Description:

Entech Staffing Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Cashier Generalist to support a local Cashiers/Bursar Office in Flint, MI. This role provides front-line service to the college community in a hybrid environment, processes student payments and deposits, and performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties. If you're customer-focused, organized, and enjoy working with numbers and systems, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent customer service in person, over the phone, and virtually.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills working with student accounts.

  • Process student and departmental payments and bank deposits.

  • Reconcile cash drawer and prepare daily summary reports.

  • Handle petty cash reimbursements and vending machine refunds.

  • Assist with student billing and financial aid award transmissions.

  • Maintain student ID program and process student refunds.

  • Sort and distribute departmental mail.

  • Support full-time staff and perform other administrative tasks as assigned.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all student and department records.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or four years of equivalent work experience.

  • One year of experience with cash handling procedures.

  • Two years of experience in both customer service and office/clerical work (may be concurrent).

  • Must be bondable (acceptable to a bonding company as a responsible person) and have a favorable credit history.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate arithmetic computations as well as strong writing skills.

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ability to work well in a team, follow procedures, and maintain confidentiality.

  • Reliable and dependable work ethic.

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles preferred.

  • Experience using enterprise systems such as Colleague, Banner, or PeopleSoft preferred.

  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a drug screening and criminal background check.
