Job description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor, acts as a client advocate in the Person-Centered Planning process regarding health issues; will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing/health plans of developmentally disabled clients; ability to perform professional nursing tasks and case consultation with prescribers/psychiatrists; performs related work as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing, licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan AND ability to move up to 30 pounds in order to transport supplies/equipment and to move or position clients.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
As THIRD PARTY insurance may be billed by this position, in accordance with professional scope of practice, employee MUST MEET THIRD PARTY REQUIREMENTS.
Must have a valid Michigan driver's license, current automobile insurance, and the use of a vehicle during work hours, including for the transport of clients; must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and irregular hours
Essential Physical Demands:
  • Vision - Position requires the ability to visually assess details at both near and far distances, as well as to perceive depth and spatial relationships with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Hearing - Position requires the ability to receive and respond to verbal communication with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Lifting, Standing, and Walking With or Without Reasonable Accommodations:
    • Position requires the ability to lift up to 35lbs on an occasional basis
    • Position requires the ability to regularly stand for extended periods of time
    • Position requires the ability to walk at a minimum of 35% up to a maximum of 65%
  • Position will require the ability to occasionally stoop, bend, or reach to perform work tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Position must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, including the use of hands and fingers for handling, grasping, typing, writing, or operating equipment with or without reasonable accommodation.
