Posting Summary
Rutgers School of Public Health (SPH) is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, located in Piscataway, NJ.
The Shiau Research Group is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Research Assistant to support ongoing research projects addressing comorbidities associated with infections, including HIV, across the lifespan. The Temporary Research Assistant will work under the supervision of Dr. Stephanie Shiau in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at School of Public Health (SPH).
This position provides an excellent opportunity for a student interested in developing expertise in data analysis methods for epidemiological research and gaining transferable skills in scientific communication.
Duties include:
  • Performs data management.
  • Conducts statistical analyses.
  • Produces reports and assist with the editing and preparation of manuscripts for publication

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must possess quantitative analytic skills and have appropriate training in epidemiology and/or biostatistics.
  • Must have high level expertise in use of statistical software including SAS and R programming.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Rutgers student preferred.
  • Previous experience with Zotero, Qualtrics, RedCap, and human subjects research
  • Interest in and previous experience with epigenetics data and/or health care claims data
