Job description

The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Linux System Administrator to join the Peraton team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our Linux infrastructure, managing the end-to-end lifecycle of our server environments. You will leverage your expertise in RedHat, automation, and virtualization to ensure our systems remain robust, secure, and highly available.
What You'll Do
Infrastructure Management: Execute administration, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and patching for RedHat Linux environments.
Automation: Drive efficiency by developing and maintaining playbooks (Ansible/Tower) and utilizing scripting (Python, PowerShell) to automate recurring tasks.
Environment Stewardship: Manage patching workflows using Satellite and maintain source code integrity via GitHub.
System Integration: Collaborate across teams to manage VMWare environments, blade technologies, and storage integration (NAS/SAN/Networking).
Operational Excellence: Utilize ServiceNow for efficient incident and change management, operating within an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) framework.
Qualifications
Experience: 3 to 5+ years of professional experience in RedHat Linux system administration.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong background in RedHat Patching (Satellite).
Deep understanding of Automation and Orchestration (Ansible, Python, PowerShell).
Hands-on experience with VMWare, Blade technologies, and SAN/NAS/Networking.
Proficiency in version control tools (GitHub).
Mindset: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; ability to adapt to complex, enterprise-level environments.
Nice-to-Haves: Familiarity with BigFix, RHEV, and Oracle RAC.
