Sit-Down Propane Forklift Operator (Temp-to-Perm)

Location: Lawrenceville, GA
Pay: $16.00–$18.00 per hour, depending on experience
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm

Available Shifts
  • 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM

We are seeking an experienced Sit-Down Propane Forklift Operator to join our warehouse and production team. This position is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment while ensuring the accurate receiving, storage, movement, and shipment of materials. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment, strong attention to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Safely operate sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and manual pallet jacks.

  • Complete daily inspections of all material handling equipment before each shift.

  • Ensure all safety equipment is functioning properly before operating equipment.

  • Safely transport materials throughout the warehouse and production areas.

  • Unload incoming shipments and accurately store materials.

  • Supply production lines with materials as needed.

  • Load outbound shipments while maximizing trailer space and minimizing product damage.

  • Inspect trailers before loading to ensure they are safe for use.

  • Verify material quantities and descriptions for accuracy.

  • Properly label, organize, and stage materials.

  • Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts and inventory transactions.

  • Use RF/barcode scanning equipment for all inventory movements.

  • Complete shipping and receiving documentation accurately and on time.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.

  • Work efficiently while meeting production and shipping deadlines.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating both sit-down propane-powered and stand-up forklifts.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

  • Experience operating a yard truck is a plus.

  • Experience with RF/barcode scanning systems is required.

Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling equipment.

  • Ability to obtain forklift certification if required.

  • Basic computer and math skills.

  • Experience using wireless RF scanning equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

  • Ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent walking, standing, talking, hearing, and visual attention throughout the shift.

  • Regular bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and lifting.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.

  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment throughout the workday.

Pay Details: $16.00 to $18.00 per hour
