Job Summary
CT Mechanical is seeking an experienced Commercial Plumbing Superintendent to lead field execution on large and mid-size plumbing projects. You will drive safety, quality, productivity, and schedule adherence while coordinating field crews, vendors, and trade partners. The ideal candidate brings deep commercial plumbing experience across domestic water, sanitary, storm, specialty systems, and startup/turnover.

Responsibilities
• Safety management: Enforce company and OSHA safety programs; lead JHAs, daily huddles, lift plans, and permit compliance.
• Quality assurance: Own plumbing QA/QC, including code compliance (IPC/Florida), installation standards, and inspection readiness.
• Production and manpower: Build look-ahead plans, set crew goals, track percent-complete, and adjust manpower to hit milestones and margin targets.
• Layout and coordination: Oversee layout for sleeves/hangers/supports; coordinate with GC, structural, and MEP trades; resolve clashes and field conflicts.
• Documentation: Ensure accurate daily reports, timesheets, photos, as-builts, and redlines; generate RFIs for conflicts/clarifications.
• Material and prefab: Validate takeoffs; sequence deliveries; manage storage; coordinate prefab and just-in-time kitting.
• Testing and commissioning: Plan and execute pressure tests, chlorination/flushing, camera inspections, and turnover documentation with PM/GC.
• Shutdowns and tie-ins: Plan occupied-facility shutdowns, notifications, and method statements; lead safe tie-ins and cutovers.
• Meetings and communication: Lead foreman/crew huddles; represent plumbing scope in OAC and coordination meetings; keep stakeholders informed.
• Training and leadership: Coach foremen and apprentices on best practices, safety, and productivity; promote a positive, accountable jobsite culture.
• Scheduling: Contribute to 3-week look-aheads, constraint logs, and pull-plan sessions; hold crews to dates and sequence.
• Tools/equipment oversight: Verify proper use, inspections, and certifications for lifts, rigging, and pressure testing equipment.

Requirements amp; Qualifications
• 10+ years commercial plumbing experience with at least 3 years supervising foremen/crews.
• Expert knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and codes for commercial plumbing (DWV, domestic hot/cold, storm, condensate, gas, specialty).
• Ability to read and interpret plans/specs, plumbing details, and coordination drawings (BIM/VDC experience a plus).
• Proven record delivering safe, high-quality installations on schedule with strong productivity.
• Competent with MS Office; scheduling exposure (MS Project/Primavera) a plus; Procore/Bluebeam familiarity preferred.
• OSHA 30 required; valid driver’s license and clean record.
• Preferred credentials: Journeyman/Master Plumber; ASSE 6010 Med Gas Brazing, ASSE Backflow Tester, or equivalent certifications; hydronic and equipment set/playbook experience a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication; calm under pressure; decisive problem solver.
