Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Support and document IT infrastructure systems, ensuring stability and performance.

  • Comprehend and manage system architecture involving servers, databases, APIs, load balancers, firewalls, networking, and SAN.

  • Build, configure, and maintain virtualized environments using Hyper-V and/or VMware.

  • Administer Windows Server environments including patching, performance tuning, and security hardening.

  • Manage Active Directory (on-prem and Azure AD) and user provisioning tasks.

  • Design, implement, and own automation scripts using PowerShell and infrastructure-as-code tools like Ansible or Terraform.

  • Oversee backup processes at various levels—VM snapshots, OS-level, and SAN-level.

  • Monitor system health and performance using appropriate logging and monitoring tools; respond to incidents and perform triage effectively.

  • Use code management repositories (e.g., GitHub, Azure DevOps) for infrastructure configuration and deployment.

  • Contribute to SCRUM or Agile processes by delivering infrastructure-related tasks and improvements.

  • Lead projects from design to completion with minimal supervision and guide junior engineers through mentorship and knowledge-sharing.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide timely resolution to critical infrastructure issues.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure management.

  • Strong understanding of IT system components: servers, databases, APIs, networking, firewalls, load balancers, SAN.

  • Proficiency in Windows Server administration, including patching and security best practices.

  • Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V and/or VMware.

  • Working knowledge of system monitoring tools and techniques.

  • Experience with backup technologies and methodologies.

  • Proficiency with code repositories like GitHub or Azure DevOps.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex technical issues.

  • Effective communicator and team collaborator within Agile/SCRUM environments.

  • Availability for on-call support as required.

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with job posting disclosure requirements.  

Pay range: $130,000 - $160,000. Actual base pay will depend on varying circumstances, including the position, location, individual qualifications, market finances, and other operations business needs.  

Depending on the position, compensation may also include commission, bonuses, etc. Potential for bonuses is based on company performance and potential for merit increases is based on performance.
