As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking an IT Infrastructure Specialist, Cloud Platform to support and operate our cloud platform.This role focuses on the operational excellence, reliability, security, and performance of IJM’s Microsoft Azure environment, while also contributing to automation, standardization, and continuous platform improvement. The Cloud Platform Specialist is a hands-on technical role within IT Operations, partnering closely with Architecture, Engineering, Security, and Compliance teams to ensure Azure services effectively support IJM’s mission.***This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to the Solutions Architect, IT Operations and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.***# **Responsibilities:**Cloud Platform Operations* Own the operational health, availability, and performance of Azure environments across multiple subscriptions and workloads;* Manage and support Azure services across computer, networking, storage, identity, and platform services;* Monitor workloads using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights, ensuring actionable alerting and timely response;* Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident remediation activities;* Perform platform maintenance, upgrades, security remediation, and configuration changes;* Partner with security and compliance teams to ensure Azure environments meet organizational and regulatory requirements;* Support cost visibility and optimization efforts using Azure-native tools and reporting;Platform Engineering & Automation* Implement and maintain Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with a strong preference for Bicep or equivalent tools;* Maintain standardized Azure deployments aligned to best practices for naming, tagging, diagnostics, and security baselines;* Support Azure governance capabilities including management groups, Azure Policy, role-based access control (RBAC), and subscription structure;* Automate operational tasks and workflows using PowerShell (7+), Azure CLI, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions);* Collaborate with application and DevOps teams to support secure and scalable Azure solutions;Networking & Partnership* Business Consultation: In partnership with IT Solutions Architect, engage with business and IT partners across all levels and roles to understand their needs and map onto the appropriate Azure services; and make recommendations to improve existing services;* IT Team Collaboration: Participation in IT team Huddles, All Hands, and other collaborative working sessions, to ensure alignment with the technology team and to foster communication, planning and coordination.
