Staff Infrastructure Engineer
Overview
The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting core enterprise infrastructure services across on-premises and cloud environments. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of critical systems while partnering closely with cross-functional IT and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Network & Systems Engineering
    • Design, implement, and support network infrastructure with strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts, routing, switching, VLANs, ACLs, and wireless technologies.
    • Configure, manage, and optimize multi-vendor switches, wireless access points, routers, and firewalls.
    • Administer and support Windows Server, Active Directory, and related identity services.
    • Support cloud services (Azure preferred), including IaaS, PaaS, identity, automation, and monitoring capabilities.
  • Operational Support & Troubleshooting
    • Diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues across network, server, cloud, and authentication platforms to minimize downtime.
    • Provide escalation support to help desk, applications, and other technical teams.
    • Participate in root-cause analysis and implement corrective or preventive measures.
  • Performance, Monitoring & Documentation
    • Monitor network and system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
    • Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation (configs, diagrams, runbooks, IP subnets, change histories).
  • Security & Compliance
    • Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, VLAN segmentation, ACLs, and secure configuration standards.
    • Ensure solutions comply with enterprise standards and applicable regulations.
  • Project Work & Collaboration
    • Work on infrastructure projects such as cloud migrations, system upgrades, network redesigns, and technology deployments.
    • Collaborate with other IT teams, business partners, and external vendors to deliver effective infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years experience in enterprise infrastructure roles covering networking, Windows systems, and/or cloud platforms.
  • Experience with multi-vendor firewalls, switches, wireless, IPv4, routing protocols, NAT, VPNs, VLANs, etc.
  • Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms.

Preferred
  • Experience with SaaS infrastructure platforms and SSO/identity solutions.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure.
  • Team-oriented collaborator with ability to influence without direct authority.

Compensation: $130k-$148k, depending on experience. This role is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus. Bonus eligibility and payout are determined by role, individual performance, and company performance, and are not guaranteed.
