Job description

Regional Project Engineer responsible for leading CapEx projects in an ingredient manufacturing environment, ensuring project objectives, scope, and budgets are met while maintaining safety and quality standards. Works on-site with a cross-functional team to deliver engineering solutions, manage procurement, and support commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define business needs, objectives, scope, and success criteria for CapEx projects.

  • Lead feasibility studies and evaluate options, recommending preferred technical solutions.

  • Develop, review, and maintain technical requirements, specifications, layouts, and impact assessments.

  • Identify long-lead items, shutdown constraints, and key interfaces to protect delivery timelines.

  • Create and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, and stakeholder alignment through completion.

  • Coordinate and supervise installation and construction activities, ensuring site readiness and logistics.

  • Plan and execute FAT/SAT activities, commissioning, start-up, and performance verification.

  • Deliver complete project handover, including documentation, manuals, certificates, and warranties.

  • Verify post-start performance and confirm solution meets approved scope and acceptance criteria.

  • Close out projects by archiving documentation, capturing lessons learned, and supporting benefits realization.

  • Prepare CapEx requests with scope definition, assumptions, risks, and cost estimates.

  • Manage RFQ processes, engage suppliers, and evaluate quotations against technical and commercial requirements.

Qualifications:
  • 5-10+ years of experience in manufacturing plants in engineering, maintenance, or process roles.

  • 5+ years of project management experience.

  • Knowledge of the food manufacturing industry.

  • Knowledge of capital accounting and budgeting.

  • Strong CAD skills.

  • Strong Windows skills (Excel, Word, etc.).

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Team spirit, dynamic, innovative, results-oriented, and autonomous.

  • Ability to work under occasional overtime and up to 25% travel.

Preferred Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

  • Food / Chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
