SUMMARY This position is responsible for the security, maintenance and services of work facilities to ensure that they meet the needs and safety of the organization, tenants and employees. This position is responsible for the maintenance and service of the physical building and supervision of the facilities staff. The Facilities Manager reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsible for the day to day management of the building and manage the facilities staff Supervise the cleaning and maintenance of the building and grounds Oversee the building security for the organization Serve as backup to facilities staff during vacations, illness leave, etc. as necessary Main liaison with vendors for the building and ordering services, repairs, etc. Oversee and recommend contracts and providers for services to include, security, parking lot maintenance, HVAC, etc.

Oversee expenditures under the Facility budget. Oversee building projects, renovations or refurbishments Inspect building structure to determine the need for repairs Ensure that basic facilities, such as water and heating, are well-maintained Provide written or verbal input in development of the annual budget as necessary. Assist in managing the facilities budget to ensure facility cost-effectiveness.

Allocate and manage space and/or concerns between departments and tenants (with approval and input from the CFO) Ensure the UW building meets local and state regulations for environmental, health and security standards Advise the organization on increasing energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness Support the organization to relocate offices and assist in decisions made about leasing and service contracts Maintain maps of HVAC systems, lighting and offices as necessary Run wire for telephone, data drops and electricity. Member of safety committee to ensure a safe work environment Must be capable of reliable and predictable attendance Consistently demonstrate the values and mission of the United Way Perform other duties as assigned SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Effective communication Analytical and problem solving Leader Collaborative/team player Detail oriented and has ability to see implications for the bigger picture Customer service Organized Able to time manage, prioritize and handle a complex, varied workload EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Preferred : 5+ years of experience in maintenance work At least 5 years of experience managing a team Associates or Bachelors Degree REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Oversee facility maintenance employees TRAVEL: Rare: local only FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Exempt SALARY RANGE : $70,000 - $80,000 ANNUALLY* The expected rate of pay for this position is shown above. Compensation offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education and, where applicable, licenses or certifications obtained.
