Job description

Role Description

The Lead Audio-Visual Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in East Peoria, IL. This role is responsible for leading the installation, configuration, testing, and support of AV systems, including displays, projectors, audio equipment, control systems, and collaboration platforms. Day-to-day tasks include supervising technicians, reviewing project plans, coordinating with project managers and clients, and ensuring work is completed to specification, on schedule, and in compliance with safety standards. The Lead Audio-Visual Technician will perform system troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and on-site technical support during meetings, events, and trainings. This role also contributes to documenting system configurations, training end users, and recommending improvements to AV designs and processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong audio-visual technical skills, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of commercial AV systems and collaboration solutions.

  • Experience leading AV project teams, overseeing on-site work, and coordinating with project managers, vendors, and clients.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications, with solid attention to detail and safety practices.

  • Proficiency with AV control systems, networked AV devices, and basic IP networking concepts related to audio and video transport.

  • Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

  • Experience in commercial AV integration, managed AV services, or related fields; CTS or similar AV certifications are highly beneficial.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or an associate degree in AV technology, electronics, or a related field is preferred.

  • Ability to work on-site, including standing, lifting equipment, working from ladders or lifts, and traveling to local client locations as needed.
