Summary
The Scientist I / Analytical Scientist is responsible for performing chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical raw materials, finished products, stability samples, and in-process materials using validated analytical methods. The role involves conducting routine laboratory testing, documenting and reporting results, maintaining analytical instruments, ensuring compliance with GMP/GLP standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support quality and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical raw materials, finished products, stability samples, and in-process materials.
- Execute validated and compendial analytical methods for strength, impurities, identity, spectroscopy, chromatography, and traditional wet chemistry analyses.
- Identify, investigate, and report out-of-specification (OOS), unexpected, or non-routine analytical results, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical laboratory instrumentation as required.
- Accurately document testing procedures, analytical data, and results in accordance with laboratory procedures and documentation systems.
- Prepare and communicate analytical findings clearly to internal stakeholders and cross-functional departments.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and proper handling of testing materials and equipment.
- Perform all laboratory activities in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and safety guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with company and facility quality and regulatory standards.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or another Science-related discipline (required).
- No prior industry experience required.
- Familiarity with common Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic knowledge of chromatographic data acquisition systems is preferred.
