The Chocolate MINT (Mentor, Inspire, Nurture, Train) Foundation Food Pantry in DeSoto, TX welcomes AmeriCorps members in collaboration with CitySquare

This spring, we invite members to serve their communities in one of these roles:
  • The AmeriCorps Health and Nutrition Assistantsupports JOY Senior Meals, which ensures that seniors in Dallas and Ellis County have access to healthy food and know how to prepare quality, healthy, nutritious meals.
  • The AmeriCorps Food Pantry Clerkwill ensure that individuals and families in Dallas and Ellis County have access to quality and healthy nutritious foods by supporting the daily operations of the food pantry and assisting client intake.

Benefits of becoming a CitySquare AmeriCorps Member:
  • Members will be paid $4,500 (broken down and paid in twice monthly installments during the term- $1,237 per month)
  • Members receive a $1,824.07 education award at the end of their term (can be used for future tuition or student loans)
  • Professional development training and networking opportunities!
  • Some service positions may fulfill college and university internship requirements.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Available from January 8th- April 26, 2024
  • Available 32 hours per week during business hours, Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, and the 3rd Saturday of the month from 7:30 am-12:00 pm.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Deferred action and temporary permanent resident do not qualify)
  • Able to access reliable transportation
  • Able to pass a criminal background check
 
Preferred qualifications:
  • Previous employment or volunteer experience in a fast-paced field and/or customer service experience
  • Spanish/English bilingual
