About the Opportunity
Seeking an experienced Employee Relations Investigator to join its Employee Relations team. This role is responsible for conducting fair, thorough, and unbiased workplace investigations while supporting a positive and engaged workforce. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted employee relations partner, managing complex cases involving workplace concerns and ensuring investigations are handled with professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
This position offers the opportunity to work directly with leaders, employees, and cross-functional partners to resolve sensitive workplace matters while contributing to a culture of accountability, fairness, and respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end employee relations investigations involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, and other workplace concerns.
- Perform intake assessments, investigation planning, witness interviews, evidence gathering, credibility assessments, findings determinations, and case closure.
- Lead in-person, virtual, and telephone interviews while maintaining a neutral fact-finding approach.
- Analyze facts, documentation, and testimony to draw well-reasoned and objective conclusions.
- Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive investigative reports detailing findings and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and case management records.
- Handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality and discretion.
- Partner with HR, Legal, Compliance, and business leaders to ensure appropriate follow-up actions and resolution of concerns.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding employee relations matters and workplace policies.
- Support employee relations projects, process improvements, and department initiatives.
- Navigate complex and emotionally charged situations with professionalism and objectivity.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of employee relations or workplace investigations experience (5+ years preferred).
- Proven experience managing full-cycle workplace investigations from intake to resolution.
- Strong knowledge of investigations involving:
- Harassment
- Discrimination
- Retaliation
- Workplace misconduct
- Demonstrated expertise in witness interviewing and credibility assessments.
- Excellent written communication skills with experience drafting investigative reports.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple active cases simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining sound judgment and objectivity.
- Experience handling confidential and highly sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Deep understanding of workplace investigation best practices and standards.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders in HR, Legal, Compliance, and leadership teams.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of HR principles and practices.
- Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $47.00 - $55.00/hr.
