Electrical Coordinator

Provide an experienced Electrical Coordinator responsible for supporting the Storage Ring Seismic Retrofit electrical scope.

Responsibilities include:
Develop electrical scope associated with temporary and permanent relocation of electrical and electronic systems.
Coordinate electrical work across engineering, construction, operations, facilities, safety organizations, and subcontractors.
Lead electrical planning and coordination meetings.
Coordinate temporary construction power.
Coordinate testing and commissioning activities.
Support project closeout.

Field Support

Perform field-oriented electrical coordination activities including:
Field verification of existing electrical infrastructure.
Wireway cataloging.
Cable identification and labeling.
Cable database support.
Existing drawing verification.
Underground conduit investigations.
Cable entry documentation supporting ALS-U Cable Plant activities.

Constructability reviews.

Safety

Support all activities using Integrated Safety Management principles.

Deliverables shall be prepared as applicable to the authorized work and may include:
Electrical scope definitions for temporary or permanent relocation of electrical and electronic equipment.
Field-verification records documenting existing electrical infrastructure, cable routing, wireways, conduits, equipment locations, and identified field conditions.


Cable catalogs, cable lists, cable-entry forms, equipment identification records, and associated tracking documentation.
Lockout/Tagout plans and supporting coordination records.
Job Safety Plans, Job Instructions, Work Orders, penetration permits, and construction work packages.
Temporary construction-power plans and coordination documentation.
Constructability-review findings, job-walk records, pre-job briefing materials, and identified hazard-mitigation actions.
Meeting agendas, action-item logs, decision records, and technical coordination summaries.
Documentation of field issues, responsible parties, required technical responses, and resolution status.
Testing and retesting plans, coordination records, test-readiness documentation, and troubleshooting summaries.
Updated drawings, field markups, cable records, as-built information, and other turnover documentation reflecting completed work.
Project-closeout records, including confirmation that assigned work packages, approvals, field documentation, and outstanding actions have been completed or formally transferred.
Periodic status reports summarizing work performed, upcoming activities, open issues, schedule concerns, safety matters, and actions requiring LBNL attention.
The LBNL Technical Representative will identify the deliverables applicable to each authorized assignment, together with required completion dates and acceptance criteria. Deliverables shall be considered acceptable when they are complete, technically accurate, consistent with applicable LBNL requirements, and approved by the LBNL Technical Representative or designated responsible organization.


Applicable electrical drawings, cable schedules, panel schedules, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and equipment records.


Existing-condition drawings, underground conduit records, facility layouts, and available as-built documentation.
Cable Plant requirements, cable-entry forms, cable databases, and related interface information.
Construction schedules, work sequencing information, outage windows, and access constraints.
Applicable Lockout/Tagout procedures, electrical safety requirements, work-control processes, and Integrated Safety Management requirements.
Job Safety Plan templates, work-package templates, permit forms, and other controlled work-planning documents.
Applicable LBNL standards, procedures, engineering requirements, safety requirements, and internal quality requirements.
Relevant construction documents, subcontractor submittals, design changes, field directives, and technical issue records.
Authorized access to Windchill, document repositories, cable databases, work-control systems, and other designated LBNL information systems.
Facility access, subject to completion of applicable training, badging, qualification, cybersecurity, and safety requirements.

Minimum Qualifications for Proposed Personnel
Personnel proposed by the Subcontractor to perform work under this Statement of Work shall possess qualifications appropriate for the services being provided. At a minimum, proposed personnel should possess the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Ability to obtain and maintain Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) certification.
Ability to obtain and maintain Responsible Individual (RI) qualification.
Experience coordinating electrical construction activities.
Experience supporting industrial, laboratory, institutional, or utility electrical systems.
Strong understanding of electrical work planning and execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and coordination skills.
Ability to independently coordinate multiple stakeholders.
Ability to perform routine field work including walking construction sites, climbing ladders, and accessing congested equipment areas.
Demonstrated commitment to safe work execution.
Preferred Qualifications
Due to the specialized nature of this assignment and the aggressive project schedule, personnel who are already familiar with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory facilities, ALS operations, work planning processes, and electrical safety practices are strongly preferred. Personnel requiring extensive onboarding, facility access, Qualified Electrical Worker certification, Responsible Individual qualification, or ALS-specific orientation may require several weeks before becoming fully productive, potentially impacting project milestones.

Preferred qualifications include:
Existing Berkeley Lab experience.
Familiarity with ALS facilities.
Existing Qualified Electrical Worker qualification.
Existing Responsible Individual qualification.


Experience supporting accelerator facilities or comparable research facilities.
Experience coordinating electrical construction subcontractors.
Experience developing LOTO documentation, Job Safety Plans, and construction work packages.
Experience coordinating cable management, cable documentation, and electrical infrastructure modifications.
