Temporary Allina Health Rn information

What is a Temporary Allina Health RN?

A Temporary Allina Health RN is a registered nurse who is employed on a short-term or contract basis at Allina Health facilities. These nurses provide essential patient care, fill staffing gaps, and support permanent staff during high-demand periods or leaves of absence. They may work in various departments, including medical-surgical units, emergency rooms, or specialized clinics, depending on the organization's needs. Temporary RNs are required to have an active nursing license and often need to adapt quickly to new environments and teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Temporary Allina Health RN?

To thrive as a Temporary Allina Health RN, you need a current RN license, a solid foundation in nursing procedures, and experience with acute patient care. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic and adherence to healthcare protocols are typically required. Strong communication, adaptability, and the ability to quickly integrate into new teams are standout soft skills. These abilities are crucial for delivering safe, high-quality patient care while efficiently adapting to the fast-paced and dynamic environment of temporary healthcare assignments.

What are some common challenges faced by Temporary Allina Health RNs and how can they be managed?

Temporary Allina Health RNs often face the challenge of quickly acclimating to new teams, workflows, and electronic health record systems. Adapting to varying patient populations and care units can also require flexibility and strong communication skills. To manage these challenges, it’s helpful to proactively ask questions, seek out unit resources, and build rapport with permanent staff members. Allina Health typically offers orientation and support, but being adaptable and open to feedback will help you succeed in temporary assignments.

Job description

Home Health Registered Nurse (RN)

in Corvallis, OR, Albany, OR, and surrounding areas

Work-life balance is yours in this nursing role! As a Home Health RN for Interim HealthCare, you can decide how much you work and how your days are structured. Simply set the schedule that works for you. No need to choose between your family and your career—you can have both, minus the guilt.

Pioneers in the home care industry, Interim HealthCare® is looking for Home Health RNs with a passion to provide exceptional patient care while enjoying the flexibility and autonomy that comes with it. If that describes you ... you are made for this!

Our Home Health Registered Nurses enjoy some notable benefits:

  • $55 per hour (contracts often offer varying visit rates that typically exceed the hourly rate)
  • 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratios where you impact outcomes
  • Flexible assignments, autonomy and work-life balance
  • Online training, growth and ability to earn CEUs
  • Holiday pay
  • Paid time off available

As a Home Health Registered Nurse, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

  • Provide home-based care to patients on a periodic or ongoing basis, including in-home infusions, injection training, and clinical trials
  • Perform client assessments for cases that require any skilled caregiving tasks.
  • Delegate skilled tasks to qualified caregivers and perform supervisory visits for those clients/caregivers at least every 90 days.
  • On call (based on availability) to answer clinical questions that arise during caregiving shifts.
  • Assist with caregiver education as required.  Examples are medication administration, which is required for the caregiver to be able to perform that task with a client.
  • Occasionally offered opportunities for staffing roles with facilities, which are optional for the nurse to accept

A few must-haves for Home Health Registered Nurses:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN license in Oregon
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, ideally in home healthcare
  • CPR certification
  • Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations
  • Clinical proficiency in nursing specialty, strong communication skills and compassion
