Job description

Title: Subject Matter Expert, AP Marketing & Sales
About The Opportunity:
The AP Marketing & Sales Subject Matter Expert (SME) will support the curricular analysis and early course architecture development for the proposed AP Marketing & Sales course. Working in partnership with the Executive Director (course design lead), the Curricular Analyst (research and analysis lead), and a cross-functional matrix team, the SME will provide field-informed and postsecondary-aligned expertise to ensure the course reflects authentic marketing & sales practice and meets standards appropriate for potential college credit.
The SME will review and synthesize relevant research, market scan findings, and existing marketing & sales frameworks into recommended course design options; advise on course scope, conceptual focus, and level of rigor; and co-develop the course framework, learning objectives, and high-level assessment approach through an iterative design process. The SME will provide structured written and verbal feedback on draft materials, contribute to the resolution of key design and alignment questions, and help ensure the resulting course model is academically go rirous, instructionally feasible, and sustainable within the AP context.
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience teaching introduction to marketing and/or sales courses at the community college or university level.

  • Familiarity with applied, project-based, or lab-based marketing and/or sales instruction

  • Experience contributing to introduction to marketing and/or sales curriculum development or structured course redesign initiatives

  • Ability to provide clear, decision-oriented guidance on course scope, rigor, and assessment alignment

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional development environments

Preferred:
  • Experience with high school marketing & sales curricula is a strong plus. Relevant contexts may include CTE marketing and/or sales programs of study, dual enrollment marketing and/or sales courses, or other high school marketing and/or sales courses offering college credit.

  • Familiarity with marketing & sales college credit policies, advanced placement standards, or dual enrollment alignment processes

The salary for this position is $55.00 per hour. You will be paid this hourly rate for time worked.
As a temporary position, this role is not eligible for College Board benefits including medical benefits or paid time off.
