Registered Nurse – NICU / Special Care Nursery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Shifts (Days/Nights, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM / 7:00 PM–7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized nursing care in a Level II NICU / Special Care Nursery with a 10-bed unit and acuity-based nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–1:3
  • Attend high and low risk deliveries and manage transition and stabilization of neonates, including those born below 32 weeks prior to transfer
  • Care for neonates with diagnoses including prematurity, low birth weight, respiratory conditions, hemodynamic issues, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
  • Manage respiratory support equipment including ventilators, bubble CPAP, and high-flow oxygen in coordination with on-site respiratory therapy
  • Administer and monitor common drips including TPN and lipids
  • Provide postpartum couplet care including maternal care and well newborn management; may float to Mother Baby unit as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license with a minimum of 1–2 years of NICU experience (Level II experience required; candidates with 1 year considered with multiple prior travel assignments)
  • Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
  • Experience attending both high and low risk deliveries and transitioning newborns
  • Proficiency with ventilators, bubble CPAP, and high-flow respiratory equipment
  • Experience with postpartum couplet care including maternal and well newborn care, or demonstrated Level II SCN experience with delivery attendance
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR (orientation provided)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior travel nursing experience in a NICU or Mother Baby setting
  • Experience with neonatal abstinence syndrome and substance-exposed newborn care
  • Familiarity with TPN, lipid administration, and tube feeding management
