Waséyabek Federal Services, LLC (WFS) is a 100% Tribally owned, Native American SBA 8(a) small business of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP). WFS is part of a portfolio of companies managed by Waséyabek Development Company, LLC, a 100% Tribally owned economic development firm focused on income diversification on behalf of NHBP that reaches beyond gaming is a well-funded, experienced small business, with substantial liquid assets and experience in federal contracting. WFS has borrowing capacity to meet the daily cash needs of new business development, new award support, and operational working capital. WFS is well-versed in federal contract compliance and providing outstanding support services.

Position Summary

The Electrician, under general direction and/or using detailed procedures and/or work instructions, safely performs standard and routine, as well as some non-routine tasks or tests within, but not necessarily limited to, the area of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. The Electrician primarily works independently on preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration activities.

Responsibilities:

· Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, hazardous gas monitors, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.

· Replacing electronic components, wiring circuits, and repairing simple electronic equipment.

· Installing, repairing, or splicing communication, electrical, or data cabling.

· Installing, repairing, or calibrating indicating, recording, telemetering, and controlling instruments to measure and control variables using hand tools and precision instruments such as potentiometer, resistance bridge, etc.

· Working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating, and diagnosing trouble in the standardized electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of basic wiring or electrical equipment.

· Utilize a variety of electrician’s hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.

· Stewards of organizational culture with a focus on teamwork and commitment to service amidst a diverse colleague and customer base.

· Able to quickly adapt/adjust focus, and problem solve within evolving work demands.

· Ability to adjust schedule to meet quickly developing needs of supervisor and other team members.

· Assist in developing and provide independent review and implementation of Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO) plans to ensure electrical work is performed safely.

· Work safely with systems operating at levels exceeding 480 volts.

· Troubleshoot and correct equipment malfunctions, perform planned preventive maintenance or assist with overhaul maintenance using diagnostic equipment.

· Select and order materials.

· Electricians may assist others with minor tasks as needed, including, but not limited to:

· Performing administrative and other support duties.

· Maintaining facilities in clean, safe, and orderly condition.

· Organizing interior and exterior of shop and other maintenance facilities.

· Identify and train a back-up(s) to manage key tasks when absent.

· Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the leader.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Current Journeyman electrician license in the state of Oregon.

· Minimum of 3 years relevant commercial/industrial experience as apprentice/electrician and related standards and procedures

· Experience working with blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.

· Good communication skills and excellent attention to detail are required.

· Basic knowledge of computer systems and software programs for administrative duties such as email are required.

· United States citizenship is required to work on a federal contract and will be electronically verified via E-Verify

· Position is subject to the Service Contract Act of 1965

· Steward the organizational culture with a focus on teamwork and commitment to service amidst a diverse colleague and customer base.

· Ability to quickly adapt focus, adjust schedule and problem solve to meet evolving work demands and needs of supervisor and other stakeholders.

· Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also work independently and balance multiple competing priorities and tasks.

· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

· Ability to pass an extensive background investigation, including but not limited to personal and professional financial history, nationwide criminal record search, credit check and other relevant background information deemed necessary by WDC.

Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Prior knowledge or experience working with a Native American Tribe.
