  • Evaluate and enhance part designs to ensure manufacturability and adherence to customer specifications.
  • Review customer drawings meticulously, focusing on requirements, tolerances, and notes.
  • Develop tooling, gauges, and fixtures to support cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
  • Provide technical support for design approvals, production issues, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate across departments—including Estimating, Sales, and Quality—to ensure seamless operations and quality compliance.
  • Act as a liaison between departments and customers, maintaining clear communication and project clarity.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong background in mechanical engineering design, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, Mastercam, and Metamation.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including laser cutting, stamping, machining, welding, and fabrication.
  • Deep understanding of GD&T principles and tolerances.
  • Excellent mechanical reasoning, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Willing to train candidates holding a Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in designing fixtures, layouts, or manufacturing dies.
  • Cross-training knowledge across multiple programming and manufacturing techniques.
  • Familiarity with Job Boss, Unipoint, or Monday project management platforms.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Prior experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment is a plus; however, we welcome enthusiastic candidates with a strong mechanical aptitude willing to learn.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or sit for extended periods, and perform physical tasks requiring reaching, bending, and twisting.
  • Must have manual dexterity for precision work and excellent visual acuity for detail orientation.
  • This role is strictly in-person, requiring daily presence at our Naperville facility, with overtime and weekend hours as needed.
