HVAC Technician IV

Decatur, IL 62526 (Onsite)

Pay rate range- $30-40/hrs. on W2

Temp-to-Hire

Shift 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Job Summary:

Amentum is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician IV responsible for maintaining building systems, facilities, and equipment in safe and operating condition. This role includes advanced HVAC troubleshooting, refrigeration repair, preventive maintenance, air handler repair, and general mechanical/electrical maintenance in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair

Maintain and repair:

  • Heating systems
  • Ventilation systems
  • Air conditioning equipment
  • Pumps
  • Fans
  • Compressors
  • Air handlers
  • Conduct refrigeration system repairs and diagnostics
  • Perform preventive maintenance using CMMS systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
  • Complete plumbing, welding, and general mechanical maintenance tasks as needed

Ensure compliance with:

  • Safety regulations
  • Building codes
  • Industry standards
  • Respond to customer work orders and provide updates
  • Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and equipment performance
  • Coordinate with outside contractors
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and PPE procedures
  • Assist in resolving complex maintenance issues
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

 

Minimum Requirements

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Minimum 5 years of HVAC or related maintenance experience
  3. EPA 608 Universal Certification required
  4. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  5. Experience with preventive maintenance and CMMS systems
  6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Industrial or manufacturing facility maintenance experience
