Position OverviewThis position carries the primary role of processing student conduct cases, ensuring accurate tracking and processing of student complaints, and data for the student conduct area. This position, in conjunction with the Dean of Students Office and the Division of Student Success, will also assist students as they face challenges that could affect their short- and long- term success in college, particularly those with extended absences due to family concerns, mental health, physical health, or other challenges.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesStudent Conduct Administration
Serve as a conduct officer for alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct.
Conduct intake meetings, investigations, and administrative hearings using a fair, equitable, and educational approach.
Apply developmental sanctions that promote reflection, accountability, and behavior change.
Draft outcome letters, maintain accurate conduct records, and ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
Collaborate with Housing & Residence Life, University Police, and other campus partners on conduct-related matters.
Participate in conduct appeals preparation and documentation as assigned.
StudentCare Coordination & Case Management
Serve as a core team member in coordinating with students experiencing personal, medical, mental health, academic, or life crises.
Provide centralized case management, including:
Initial outreach and needs assessment
Coordinated referrals to campus and community resources
Ongoing follow-up and support
Assist students navigating complex systems such as academic flexibility, temporary absences, hospitalizations, or return-to-campus processes.
Reduce fragmentation of care by serving as a consistent point of contact for students and campus partners.
Maintain confidential case notes and tracking systems to support continuity and accountability.
Integrated Care & Accountability Approach
Balance accountability and support by addressing behavior and contributing stressors when appropriate.
Distinguish clearly between conduct adjudication and supportive care functions, ensuring ethical role separation and transparency with students.
Collaborate with Counseling Services, Student Health, Academic Affairs, Financial Aid, and Student Engagement to support holistic student success.
Behavioral Intervention & Campus Collaboration
Serve as a member of the Behavioral Intervention, or Threat Assessment Team.
Monitor ongoing cases referred through CARE processes and provide follow-up support after team interventions.
Assist with identifying patterns of concern and recommending proactive interventions.
Consult with faculty and staff regarding student concerns and appropriate referral pathways.
Education, Outreach & Prevention
Assist with educational programming related to student conduct, community standards, and help-seeking behaviors.
Support faculty and staff training on recognizing and reporting students of concern.
Contribute to prevention-focused initiatives that reduce repeat conduct concerns and crisis escalation.

Education - Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
Experience - Three years 3 years of professional experience in student conduct, case management, student support services, or a closely related area
Knowledge of student conduct processes, FERPA, and due process principles.
Demonstrated ability to work with students experiencing crisis, distress, or complex personal circumstances.
Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, counseling, social work, or related field.
Experience serving on a BIT or threat assessment team.
Experience working with first-generation, rural, or underserved student populations.
Familiarity with conduct management and case tracking software systems.
Student-centered and equity-minded practice
Sound judgment and ethical decision-making
Ability to balance care, accountability, and institutional responsibility
Collaborative problem-solving
An approach of care and empathy
Comfort with navigating ambiguity and emotionally complex situations.
