  • 1st shift 7am-3:30pm, 2nd shift 3:30pm-12am M-F
  • $19-$25/hour based on experience

Overview:

Sycamore StaffQuick is seeking a skilled CNC Operator/Programmer to set up, program, and operate CNC machining equipment to produce high-quality components that meet customer specifications and production requirements. This position is responsible for creating and modifying programs, performing machine setups, troubleshooting machining issues, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment using approved programming software and machine controls.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine machining requirements and tolerances.
  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and maintain product quality.
  • Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine attachments.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • Verify finished products meet dimensional and quality standards.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain production efficiency and quality.
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling, and machine issues to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and inspection records.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and coordinate repairs when necessary.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and housekeeping requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or machining certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with G-code programming and CNC controls such as Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or similar systems.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Working knowledge of machining processes, tooling, cutting speeds, feeds, and materials.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and quality inspection equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity are required to operate machinery and inspect parts.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, oils, and varying temperatures.
