Position Summary:
The Ballot Scanning Operator is responsible for managing the secure and accurate processing of ballots. This includes operating the ballot scanning workstation, feeding ballots into scanners. Upon completion of each scanning session, the operator ensures all processed ballots are properly boxed, labeled, and prepared for secure storage in accordance with election protocols.
Job Description:
  • Accurately scan ballots for tabulation in accordance with established procedures
  • Organize and properly box scanned ballots for secure storage
  • Label, seal, and secure ballot boxes in compliance with election protocols
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
  • Follow detailed instructions and established processes
  • Demonstrate proficient computer skills and technical ability
  • Possess basic math skills and strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work shifts of 8+ hours, particularly on Election Day

Essential Physical Requirements:
Continuous upward and downward flexion of the neck. Ability to sit, stand, or walk for 8-12 hours per day. Repetitive use of the hands. Frequent walking, standing, bending, and twisting of the neck and waist. Ability to perform simple grasping and reach above and below shoulder level. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 lbs. with assistance.
