Job description

Position Summary
Ethic Tech, LLC is seeking a temporary Senior DevOps Engineer to provide critical operational support and ensure continuity of operations for a mission-critical program. This position is responsible for the development, automation, maintenance, and optimization of secure, scalable DevOps pipelines and infrastructure supporting classified and mission-critical systems. The incumbent will collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure system reliability, security, and performance while supporting ongoing program objectives.
This is a temporary assignment with an anticipated end date of September 30, 2026.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and implement secure, multi-enclave CI/CD pipelines for containerized platforms, including Rancher, Harvester, and Kubernetes.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Ansible, Terraform, Helm, and related tools.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of repeatable deployment workflows aligned with TACLAN, Mantle, and CSfC architectures.
  • Collaborate closely with systems engineers, cybersecurity teams, and developers to streamline mission kit builds and cloud-native system deployments.
  • Ensure automation processes meet compliance requirements such as RMF, DISA STIGs, and other DoD cybersecurity controls.
  • Conduct performance tuning, diagnostics, and optimization in both test lab and operational environments.
  • Integrate VMware vSphere 8.x, hardened OS images, and container registries into secure DevOps workflows.
  • Contribute to Agile processes, including sprint planning, technical documentation, and system readiness reviews.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in a related technical field is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in DevOps, systems automation, or platform engineering.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) is required. An active Top Secret SCI clearance is preferred.
  • Must be able to commute to MacDill AFB.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker, and Linux-based systems.
  • Proficiency in scripting and IaC tools such as Bash, Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows, container registries (e.g., Harbor, Artifactory), and artifact management solutions.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD practices in secure, air-gapped, or classified environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems and document technical processes effectively.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in DoD or IC environments involving classified system deployment.
  • Certifications such as CKA, CKAD, RHCE, or AWS/GCP/Azure DevOps-related credentials.
  • Knowledge of TACLAN, CSfC, or Mantle architectures and secure mobility initiatives.
  • Ability to meet deadlines during peak close and audit periods.
