Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Robotics Engineer with a strong emphasis on hardware setup and integration. You will be responsible for installing and configuring robotic arms, cameras, and grippers, running calibration and inverse kinematics (IK) tests, and ensuring seamless integration between physical robots and machine learning (ML) models. You will work closely with simulation engineers to align virtual and physical setups, support real-world data collection, and log performance metrics for continuous improvement.

This is a temporary position expected to last at least 6 months, with a high likelihood of extension. The role is 100% onsite in Mountain View, CA. Requisition ID: 906141765 Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain robotic arms, end-effectors (grippers), and peripheral hardware in lab and production environments Perform hardware calibration, including camera calibration, robot arm calibration, and tool center point alignment (TCP) Execute and validate inverse kinematics (IK) and motion validation testing to ensure accurate robot motion and task execution Collaborate with simulation engineers to align physical robot setups with virtual models, ensuring consistency between simulated and real-world environments Support real-world data collection efforts, including sensor setup, data logging, and troubleshooting Integrate and deploy ML models onto physical robots, ensuring proper data flow and system stability Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field 2-5 years of hands-on experience with industrial or collaborative robots (e.g., UR, KUKA, ABB, FANUC, etc) Proficiency in robot hardware setup and calibration (camera, robot, gripper, TCP) Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) and common robotics middleware Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar) for automation and integration tasks Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
