Job Title
AWS Solutions Architect
About your role:
As a hands-on AWS Solutions Architect you will bridge the gap between high-level enterprise cloud strategy and elite software engineering. In a builder role. you will not just author architectural diagrams or deploy brief proofs-of-concept (POCs) but you will also write clean code, model distributed databases, and directly launch production-grade Minimum Viable Products (MVPs). You will actively leverage modern Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) developer tools to accelerate engineering, refactoring, and deployment velocity.
You will have a proven track record of shipping actual products or production-scale software, moving far beyond mere exploratory POCs or localized sandboxes.
What you'll do:
  • MVP Software & Cloud Engineering: Move rapidly from whiteboard diagrams to writing production-ready code. Ship fully realized, high-availability MVPs directly into cloud environments.
  • System Design & Governance: Architect secure, multi-account AWS environments.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Author and maintain production-grade deployment scripts using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
  • GenAI-Driven Development: Integrate GenAI assistant tools seamlessly into daily workflows to expedite Infrastructure as Code (IaC) creation, code generation, troubleshooting, and architectural optimization.
  • CI/CD Automation: Build and manage continuous integration and deployment pipelines using tools like Jenkins.
  • Security & IAM: Enforce least-privilege access, Service Control Policies (SCPs), and compliance frameworks across the enterprise.
  • Modern Data Modeling & Strategy: Architect multi-region data layers matching the right database to the right workload. Build scalable transactional systems across relational, non-relational, and next-generation serverless distributed technologies.
  • Optimization & Troubleshooting: Drive cloud cost optimization (FinOps) and perform deep technical troubleshooting during system outages.

Experience you'll need to have:
  • 10+ years in IT/software engineering, with at least 3-5 years focused directly on AWS cloud platforms.
  • Execution: A proven track record of shipping actual products or production-scale software, moving far beyond mere exploratory POCs or localized sandboxes.
  • Scripting & Coding Languages: Strong coding ability in Java, Python, Bash, or TypeScript.
  • Demonstrated ability using GenAI assistants or LLM developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, or Claude) to accelerate code generation, rewrite legacy scripts, automate documentation, and debug infrastructure deployment failures.
  • Hands-on engineering with Amazon ECS (Fargate/EC2) and Amazon EKS.
  • Core networking and compute mastery: VPC, EC2, Lambda, and IAM.
  • Relational: Deep expertise in PostgreSQL, Amazon RDS, or Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL performance tuning and connection pooling.
  • NoSQL: Advanced data modeling using Amazon DynamoDB (single-table design, GSIs, DynamoDB Streams).
  • Distributed SQL: Practical exposure or design utilizing Amazon Aurora DSQL for active-active, multi-region scalability.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).

Experience that would be great to have:
  • Experience in fintech/payments domains.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional is highly preferred.

Important information about this role:
  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
  • You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.
  • This is a full-time, direct-hire position, and no contract options for unsolicited agency submissions will be considered.
  • All offers of employment are contingent on standard background checks. Fiserv and certain of its affiliated companies are federal, state, and/or local government contractors. Should this position support a Federal Government contract, now or in the future, the successful candidate will be subject to a background check conducted by the U.S. Government to determine eligibility and suitability for federal contract employment for public trust or sensitive positions.
