Job description

Title: Network Engineer
Location: Radford, Virginia (ON-SITE)
Clearance REQUIRED: Secret
Certification REQUIRED: Security+ (or 8570 equivalent)
College Degree REQUIRED: Bachelors Degree
Years of Experience REQUIRED: 12 years with Bachelors or 10 years with Masters Top Skills Required:
• Senior level network engineer experience with at least five years of experience in implementing IT infrastructure systems, specifically focusing on networking infrastructure in enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in VMware NSX, including design, deployment, and management.
• Proficiency in network engineering, including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and network security.
• Proficiency with core networking components: NSX, Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco Routers, Cisco Nexus & Catalyst switches
• Familiarity with the VMware Suite of products: NSX, VSAN, vSphere, ESXi, ARIA, and other VMware tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to VMware infrastructure and network configurations.
• Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and MPLS.
• Strong automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Strong troubleshooting skills across the entire technology stack – network, storage, server, and applications. Job Responsibilities:
• Work with Government engineers to develop and maintain the architecture
• Develop, deploy, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for deployment and sustainment of the network architecture
• As applications are hosted on the solution, utilize IaC for the provisioning of the network foundation for customer enclaves. • Provide daily administration of the network to include patching and upgrading of all network components. • Monitor health and utilization of the network resources and notify the lead when critical issues arise, and additional resources will be required.
• Harden the network per commercial best practices and the required government cybersecurity controls. • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of any hosting platform network issues. • Develop and maintain system, infrastructure, and process documentation (system diagrams, network topology, software configurations, device configurations, standard operating procedures). • Provide on-call support for triage and resolution of after-hours production incidents. • Make recommendations for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across the network enclaves. • This position requires an active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI) or the ability to be obtain an (Interim Secret, Interim Top Secret)
