Job description

Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer (DevOps)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly technical Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain the automation frameworks that power our enterprise infrastructure. You will be the primary architect for our configuration management strategy, ensuring that our systems are scalable, secure, and highly reliable.
This is a senior-level role for an engineer who treats infrastructure as software. You will not just be writing scripts; you will be building modular, reusable automation engines that integrate seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines. If you enjoy solving complex orchestration problems, mentoring junior engineers, and driving "automation-first" initiatives across development and operations teams, this is an excellent opportunity to make a massive impact.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Architecture & Strategy
• Framework Design: Lead the design and implementation of automation solutions for provisioning, configuration management, and deployment.
• Orchestration Mastery: Create and manage automated workflows that span across diverse, multi-environment infrastructure.
• CI/CD Integration: Integrate automation code directly into deployment pipelines to increase velocity and reduce manual intervention.
Collaboration & Engineering Excellence
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to identify bottlenecks and translate them into automated solutions.
• Code Quality & Mentorship: Lead code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor team members to elevate the collective automation expertise of the organization.
• Continuous Improvement: Troubleshoot complex system failures, perform root-cause analysis, and continuously refactor existing frameworks for better scalability and maintainability.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or dedicated automation roles.
• Ansible Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience designing modular playbooks, roles, and dynamic inventories.
• Python Mastery: 5+ years of professional development experience using Python 3.x for system administration, monitoring, and REST API integration.
• Shell Scripting: Extensive experience (10+ years preferred) writing robust Bash/Shell scripts for Unix/Linux environments, utilizing tools like sed, awk, and grep.
Preferred Attributes
• Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Expert knowledge of version control workflows (Git, GitLab, GitHub).
• Proven success in scaling automation across large, heterogeneous infrastructure footprints.
