Job description

Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to lead the improvement and sustainment of our high-performance production lines. You will serve as the technical backbone for our manufacturing floor, using a methodical, data-driven approach to optimize system uptime, reduce waste (scrap), and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
This is a dynamic role for a hands-on engineer who enjoys the balance of floor-level troubleshooting and long-term project management. You will work on everything from tool design improvements to the qualification of new processes, ensuring all work adheres to established design control and documentation standards. If you are a collaborative engineer who excels at turning root cause findings into robust technical solutions, we want to talk to you.
Key Responsibilities
Production Sustainment & Optimization
• Performance Improvement: Drive OEE and quality metrics by analyzing production data and executing targeted process improvements. Lead initiatives to reduce scrap rates and optimize material usage.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Utilize methodical Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to solve complex manufacturing issues. Propose and implement technical solutions that enhance system performance and reliability.
• Documentation & Compliance: Manage documentation supporting production, ensuring all changes adhere to strict design control processes and engineering best practices.
Project Leadership & Innovation
• Project Execution: Support and eventually manage project timelines and milestones, ensuring deliverables are met within budget.
• Design & Innovation: Develop innovative tool design improvements. Support the characterization of new processes and summarize technical findings for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Quality Engineering to lead qualification activities for new or modified equipment. Train production personnel on new documentation, techniques, and equipment procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related STEM field.
• Experience Baseline: 2-4 years of relevant professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Technical Mastery: Proficiency in SolidWorks (mechanical design/fixturing). Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies (DOE, Process Capability, Gage R&R).
• Technical Writing: Strong competency in creating clear, precise engineering documentation.
• Independence: Ability to work effectively with general project direction, making independent decisions that impact project objectives while soliciting input from senior leadership when needed.
Preferred Attributes
• Hands-on experience with automation, plastic injection molding, or precision part assembly.
• Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., highly controlled quality/regulatory standards).
• A "proactive" mindset-someone who is not just looking for the next fire to put out, but is focused on the broader strategy of the production line.
