Job description


The Production Operator position is in our Lawrence food chemical processing plant. As the Production Operator, you will operate in a safe and efficient manner, carrying out basic duties, some of the basic job duties are listed below: Raw Material handling and unloading.
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for this position. Please note that, at this time, we are only considering applications from local candidates. Relocation assistance is not available for this role. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance to Lawrence, KS to be eligible for consideration. Support ESH Compliance
  • Follow all plant safety rules and procedures for handling phosphates
  • Follow all applicable ICL safety requirements
  • Follow plant emergency procedures
  • Complete all required training
  • Must successfully complete RCRA introductory/orientation training
  • Must successfully complete RCRA annual refresher training
  • Perform job safely, in an environmentally sound manner and in accordance with all cGMP requirements

Job Responsibilities
  • Material packing using manual, semi-automatic, and automated packing system
  • Restocking of packaging supplies
  • Trailer loading and unloading using fork truck
  • Bulk truck loading and unloading
  • Clean-up and housekeeping
  • Troubleshoot process problems
  • Troubleshoot product flow
  • Check and adjust feed liquor specific gravity
  • Operate furnace burners, level, temperature controls
  • Pump feed liquor to furnaces and control flow
  • Operate auxiliary equipment, including, but not limited to chill wheel, elevator, Buffalo mills, hammer mill, hummer screen, Rotex screener, dust collector, baggers, cooling tower, product scalping screeners, pneumatic blowers, bucket elevators, and conveyors

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
  • Applicants must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be able to work in confined areas while wearing protective clothing & equipment
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision, rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, computer applications
  • Good reading and comprehensive skills
  • Must be able to learn new duties and progress to chemical operator level
  • Must be capable of operating a fork truck

PPE:
