Position Overview:

The Agronomy Ground & Aerial Applicator is responsible for accurately and safely applying agricultural products to customer fields using both ground and aerial (drone) equipment. This role combines technology, precision agriculture, and hands-on operational work to support efficient, effective, and environmentally responsible application practices. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and using innovative technology to support growers’ success.


Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Operate ground and aerial (drone) application equipment to apply fertilizers, crop protection products, and other agronomic materials.
  • Ensure accurate mixing, loading, and application according to agronomic prescriptions and label directions
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment to ensure proper function and calibration.
  • Safely handle and transport chemicals and seed treatment materials.
  • Follow all environmental, safety, and regulatory guidelines for product use and application.
  • Operate agricultural drones for product application and scouting
  • Maintain drone equipment, ensuring readiness, battery health, and software updates.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and team members.
  • Represent the company positively at all times.
  • Report any field or customer concerns promptly to the Agronomy Lead or Manager.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent. Previous equipment experience is a benefit.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain:

Temporary Seasonal Class B CDL or Class A CDL.

Commercial Pesticide Applicator License

Part 107 Remote Pilot License


  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Familiarity with precision ag technology, GPS, and mapping systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and relationship building skills
  • Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work extended hours during peak seasons.
  • Ability to stand, walk and be on feet, or sit for 8 to 10 hours a day
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, squat & kneel
  • Capable to do repeated actions
  • Effectively communicate with team members
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Work Environment

  • Schedule: Must work scheduled days and hours. Must work full time, a minimum of 80 hours each pay period. Seasonal overtime is required.
  • Environment: Indoors and outdoors. Noise level is usually moderate.
  • Travel: Between company locations and customer sites as needed.
