Overview

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership is a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson Controls. Silent-Aire is a technology driven company that designs, engineers and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions.


This role is located at our facility in Nisku and you must have a reliable transportation to commute.

This role will be offered to work Monday to Thursday Nightshift or Weekend Nights, Friday-Sunday.

The Forklift Operator is responsible for utilizing a forklift to move materials around a storage yard, factory, or similar location. The Forklift Operator is also responsible for loading and unloading trucks, conducting minor maintenance work, assisting with inventory documentation, and supporting full adherence to safety compliance regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Operate lifting devices, e.g. forklifts, hoists, elevating platforms, lift beams and swivel hooks inside and outside.

  • Confirm inventory transactions are complete.

  • Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, and lifting devices.

  • Put away received materials to proper storage locations.

  • Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job.

  • Accurately ship and receive product.

  • May perform other activities such as assisting in taking inventory and weighing/checking materials.

  • Support inventory control with accurate documentation.

  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.

  • Accurately weigh and document materials.

  • Participate in clean-up of yard and facility.

  • Perform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a forklift operator in a warehouse/shipping environment with a VALID forklift license from an accredited training program (class 1, 4, 5).

  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.

  • Able to communicate well in English via radio and in-person. Clear speech.

  • Knowledge of safe lifting and handling techniques.

  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 40 pounds.

  • Able to work independently and in team.

Working Conditions

  • Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.

  • Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).

  • Employee may be exposed to uncomfortable work settings such as cold or hot weather outdoors; may have combinations of standing, crouching, or sitting throughout the day.

  • Fast-paced environment.

  • Overtime as required.
