Job description

We are seeking a licensed electrician with experience to help us take our company to the next level.

Who we are:

We are an exterior lighting company with 3 operational divisions:

  • Government/RFP lighting: Large-scale lighting projects requiring an Electrical Contractor's license.
  • Retail Permanent Lighting: Landscape lighting, retrofits, permanent roofline lighting, etc.
  • Temporary lighting: Christmas/wedding/event lighting.

This position is primarily involved with the Government/RFP lighting division, but you will certainly have some level of involvement as needed in the other 2 divisions as well. Currently, our EC license is a qualified license, but we are seeking to hire someone with an EC license that we can hang internally.

Job Description:

  • Support bidding — walk sites, scope electrical requirements, and provide accurate material, labor, and code-related input so estimates are realistic and competitive.
  • Manage projects end to end — responsible for scheduling, materials, and on-site execution; keep jobs on time, on budget, and to spec.
  • Pull and manage permits — prepare and submit permit applications, coordinate with local building departments and inspectors, and keep documentation clean.
  • Code compliance — ensure all installations meet the NEC and applicable Florida and local jurisdiction codes; catch issues before the inspector does.
  • Training — direct, train, and develop field employees on your jobs.
  • Procurement — assist with sourcing products for quotes or projects and maintaining relationships with distributors.
  • Run the paperwork side — use project management and office software (scheduling, estimating, email, permit portals) to keep records, reporting, and communication tight.

What We're Looking For:

Required

  • Active Florida Certified Electrical Contractor's license. This role pulls permits under your own license, so contractor-level licensure is required — a Master or Journeyman card alone does not qualify.
  • Proven experience independently pulling and managing permits with Florida building departments.
  • Solid command of the NEC and Florida/local electrical code, with a track record of passing inspections.
  • Experience supervising or leading other electricians or field crews.
  • Project management experience — juggling schedules, materials, and multiple jobs at once.
  • Comfortable with computers and software — email, scheduling/PM tools, estimating, and online permit portals.
  • Reliable vehicle for transportation.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and clean driving record.

Preferred

  • Direct experience with exterior, landscape, or architectural lighting systems (low-voltage and line-voltage).
  • Existing relationships with Central Florida building departments and inspectors.
  • Estimating or bid-preparation experience on commercial projects.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus for crew leadership.

Compensation Package:

  • Annual salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 (Based on experience and total hours worked)
  • Paid time off: 2 weeks per year
  • Fuel paid by the company
  • IRA with 3% company match (Optional)
