Job description

Job Title: ChemistJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Chemist to join our team and contribute to the quality control and validation efforts within our laboratory. The Chemist will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of our products by performing comprehensive testing and coordinating various laboratory activities.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct procedure updates in the QC lab and perform GMP reviews of logbooks.
  • Coordinate waste management, LEAN, and 5S efforts as required.
  • Perform final product release testing and applicable tests.
  • Conduct raw material release testing when necessary.
  • Perform testing, analyze results, and ensure commercial manufacturing activities remain uninterrupted.
  • Participate in laboratory method validation, transfer, and verification activities.
  • Coordinate routine monitoring and validation activities.
  • Order supplies, assign expiry dates to incoming materials, track requisitions, and reconcile against incoming materials and invoices.
  • Perform chemistry testing on raw materials, in-process, final product, validation-related, and critical utility samples.
  • Serve as a technical resource within the department and cross-functionally, possibly participating in special projects.
Essential Skills
  • 4+ years of relevant experience with a BS degree in Chemistry or equivalent, or 2+ years of relevant experience with a MS degree.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Chemistry, Wet Chemistry, HPLC, GC, and analytical chemistry.
  • Working knowledge of GMPs, GLPs, pharmacopeial, and regulatory requirements for testing and validation in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Understanding of chemistry techniques for determining the identity, purity, and quality of parenteral and solid dosage products.
  • Knowledge of USP/BP/JP and EP requirements and change processes.
  • Familiarity with CE, SEC, HPLC, GC, and UPLC systems.
  • Strong investigation and report writing skills.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, LIMS, and Empower applications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Biologics Products, including small and/or large molecule experience, is preferred.
Work Environment

This is an onsite position, requiring availability from Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Flexibility is necessary, as the role may require being on-call during some weekends and coming in during off-shifts to run samples.

This is a Contract position based out of La Verne, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $42.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
