Seasonal Street/Parks Maintenance Laborer

We are looking for talented individuals across professions who are committed to serving our community and building a better future. With a population of over 7,000 in the community and growing, the City of Junction thrives with great people devoted to serving the community.

Job Description:

The City of Junction City is hiring Seasonal/Temporary Streets & Parks Maintenance Laborers at Public Works to join the team! This position is a seasonal/temporary, hourly position.

Expected start date is July 1, 2026. This position is budgeted for 10 weeks at 30 hours a week.

This is a temporary, hourly position with wages of $17.96-$20.22

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • 6 to 8 hour shifts available with flexibility

General Position Summary:

Responsible for maintaining parks, groundskeeping, irrigation maintenance, landscaping, and other related duties as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine grounds keeping, building maintenance, graffiti removal, and related duties.
  • Perform routine manual duties such as assisting with trimming trees, chipping brush, and raking limbs and brush.
  • Pruning, raking fertilizing, weeding, and mulching.
  • Maintain turf by trimming and mowing, edging and fertilizing, monitor watering of turf and grounds, assist with repairs and maintenance of irrigation components such as lateral pipes, sprinklers, and valve boxes.
  • Assist with care of planting and transplanting trees and shrubs.
