Classification Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or closely related life science field and 1-3 years of experience.
Job Description:
- Assist student projects, help with sample preparation and analysis. Assist in teaching/training procedures to students and personnel when needed (e.g., new student joins the lab).
- Troubleshoot problems with procedures and update written procedures as needed. Assist in maintaining lab supplies and implementing lab safety procedures. Assist in overseeing undergraduates and other members of the lab. Facilitate daily operations. Help with sample/freezer organization.
- Independently perform basic and complex procedures and techniques for ongoing projects not assigned to students. Assure fidelity to protocols (for everyone who works in the lab), may propose modifications to protocols and/or assist in the design of experiment protocols for prospective studies. Test and evaluate current procedures. Design portions of experimental plans. Apply new methods/theories.
Expected Salary:
$25.00 / hourly
