Job description

The Accountant II serves as a primary accounting resource supporting the Company's fixed asset and rental asset portfolio. The incumbent will focus on Fixed & Rental Asset Accounting. The role is heavily focused on asset lifecycle accounting, including capitalization, construction-in-progress, depreciation, transfers, disposals, reconciliations, asset reporting, and rental fleet accounting activities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintain accounting records for company-owned fixed assets and rental fleet assets.
    • Review and process asset additions, transfers, trade-ins, retirements, write-offs, and disposals.
    • Monitor construction-in-progress activity and support timely placement of assets into service.
    • Prepare depreciation calculations, asset roll-forwards, reconciliations, and asset reporting schedules.
    • Support rental fleet accounting, branch transfers, inventory verification, and asset audits.
    • Prepare assigned journal entries, account reconciliations, and close support schedules.
    • Perform lease accounting activities and support ASC 842 compliance activities.
    • Assist with daily cash management activities, including preparation, coordination, and support of wire transfers in accordance with company policies and approval requirements.
    • Support daily and monthly cash reporting activities by preparing schedules, validating supporting documentation, and assisting with cash-related analyses and reporting requirements.
    • Collaborate with Accounting leadership, Accounts Payable, and treasury-related functions to ensure timely processing, tracking, and documentation of cash disbursements and funding activities.
    • Prepare and organize audit support for fixed assets, leases, capital expenditures, and assigned balance sheet accounts.
    • Develop and maintain SOPs, templates, process documentation, and process improvement initiatives.
    • Assist with capital expenditure reporting, asset-related financial analysis, and special projects.
    • Other duties as assigned in support of the operation.

    Education and/or Experience:

    A bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting, finance or business administration or related field preferred from an accredited college or university is required. A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible accounting and financial record-keeping experience is required. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

    • Progressive accounting experience with fixed assets, rental assets, depreciation, capitalization, reconciliations, month-end close, and audit support preferred.
    • Experience supporting large equipment fleets, rental equipment businesses, manufacturing, construction, industrial operations, or other capital-intensive environments strongly preferred.
    • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to apply Company capitalization policies to recurring and non-routine asset transactions.
    • Understanding of asset lifecycle concepts including acquisition, capitalization, transfer, depreciation, impairment indicators, retirement, and disposal.
    • Experience with ERP fixed asset modules, fixed asset subledgers, lease accounting systems controls, and large data sets preferred.
    • Ability to research issues, identify root causes, communicate findings, and recommend practical accounting or process corrections.
    • Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities during close and audit deadlines.

      Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment when handling financial information.
