Woodland Job Corps Center is seeking a dedicated Temporary Academic Instructor to provide educational support and guidance to students working toward their academic goals. This role is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is passionate about helping young adults strengthen their skills, achieve academic success, and prepare for future career opportunities.

Position Summary

The Temporary Academic Instructor provides classroom instruction and individualized academic support within the Career Education Center. This position helps students improve literacy and numeracy skills, work toward GED/HSD completion, and develop the academic foundation needed for career success.

The instructor will also collaborate with Career Technical Training (CTT) staff to connect academic learning with hands-on career training experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic instruction and support to students pursuing GED/HSD completion.
  • Assist students in improving literacy, numeracy, and academic skills.
  • Develop and monitor individualized student achievement plans and goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to encourage student progress and program completion.
  • Collaborate with CTT instructors to integrate applied academics into career training.
  • Maintain an organized classroom environment that supports learning and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate student records while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Promote positive behavior, accountability, and Career Success Standards.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and leadership.
  • Support program goals and maintain quality educational services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred.
  • Teaching, tutoring, GED preparation, adult education, or classroom experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and maintaining accurate documentation.
